Approaching the village of Wilford, everything seemed normal enough – except for the lack of people. No one was working the fields or around their homes.
Once we entered the inn, we found out why – most of the people were there, huddled over meals and drinks, and acting terrified of something unknown.
After quite a bit of conversation, and futile attempts to engage the patrons, Gimak finally lost his patience and coerced the innkeeper/mayor to tell us what was going on.
Some time ago, the local lord vanished at the same time that a group of “monks” came into the village. Once Lord Wilford and his family was gone, they began terrorizing the town – taking whatever they wished, and giving nothing to the Duke. Tolwin had found this out, and as was his duty, he went up to the manor house to confront the “monks”.
We began the same trek, and encountered an old man in a shack outside of town named Gibbon. Gibbon confirmed everything that the mayor had said, and more.
Our approach the manor house as met by an assault of humans and dogs.
Once inside, we were forced to battle a multitude of foes, led by a dark sorcerer. He fell to us, but it was a close thing. Upstairs, we found astrological calculations scribbled on the walls. All signs point to a necromancer at work.
